Amsale

WeSMCO's treasured sponsor Amsale Birhanu tragically passed away on February 20, 2009. She was a sponsor of two orphaned children (Tigist and Bisrat) and made a significant change in their lives.  Amsale was a kind person with a big heart to help the poor and needy children.

Amsale (Amy) was born on September 18, 1965 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. She was the daughter of Berhanu Kidanu and Emebet Tesfazgui.

In 1985, she moved and settled in San Diego, California, where she began her pursuit of higher education and professional career. She attended the National University of San Diego, California, where she obtained a BSc Degree in Business Administration, with emphasis in computers and business in 1991. She also obtained a MSc degree in Communications from North Western University in 2005. She was indeed a very driven, focused and results oriented individual.

Rest in the peace of our lord until we meet to part no more.

Amsale was devoted to helping the poor and needy children in her home country-Ethiopia, and she diligently carried this responsibility alongside her professional work. She has been sponsoring Bisrat and Tigist (Pictured below) and made a significant change in their lives.  Though the children and we all deeply miss her, her treasured work to uphold WeSMCO’s vision will continue.

Bisrat Tigist

Respecting her dedication and in loving memory of Amsale as well as her familys' wish, WeSMCO has created a new sponsorship scheme Amsale’s Children. Under this scheme family, friends, colleagues and others can pay tribute to Amsale’s cause through sending needy children to school.

If you would like to support this scheme, you can either spoonsor a child up to 18 years of age as indicated on the sponsorship page or pledge money to support sponsored children under the scheme using our bank account in the contact us page.
